BRAND DEVELOPMENT
I learned the importance of a cohesive brand story during my time FIDM. Creating a feeling is one of the most important parts of influencing the consumer, and I was able to learn how to do so on a variety of projects. In the below portfolios for Ariat International and BCBG, I'll take you through AW15/16, inspired by Autumn and Winter's skies. The concept for both portfolios focused around innovation. With one brand, Ariat, being known for their technology, it only made sense to add in footwear sensors (similar to those you'd find in running shoes) and protective chest gear for those unfortunate, yet, common falls. BCBG is not so obvious, but the focus was to add "unseen" technology to help women feel more confident when they looked in the mirror.
TREND FORECASTING
As part of the process of creating a line, FIDM ensured we were well versed in the world of trend forecasting and trend analysis. Below are two samples from my portfolio.
ILLUSTRATION
During my time at FIDM, I was instructed on Illustrator & Photoshop, and given the tools to render my own designs and digitally add 3D effects to effectively communicate my design inspiration. Below you'll find my designs for two portfolios, from the look merchandised all the way through the designs.
TEXTILE DESIGN
During my time at FIDM, I was educated on creating my own textiles and textile prints. That was exploring the different design styles as well as placing prints into renderings. Below are some of those examples.
